Nikon Eclipse Ti2-E Live-Cell & Deconvolution Imaging System

A fully motorized Nikon Eclipse fluorescence microscope, with large field of view (25 mm), and 2D/3D deconvolution and tile imaging capabilities, is now available at BMC for use by the UGA research community. Moreover, the new system is ideal for fast long term live Cell imaging, and imaging of all colors from blue to NIR.  Location: 164 Coverdell Center.

Zeiss LSM 900 with AI Sample Finder

BMC users now have access to a Zeiss LSM 900 Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope. This new system comprises an inverted Zeiss Axio Observer microscope stand, four laser lines, two GaAsP-PMT detectors, and an AI Sample Finder that automates sample placement, focus adjustment and quick identification of the relevant sample areas and overview image acquisition. LSM 900 is easy to use, and it allows high-quality multicolor confocal imaging, especially acquiring and stitching of tiled images of samples too large to fit within the field of view. Location: 164 Coverdell Center.

LSM 980 with Airyscan 2

We have added a Zeiss LSM 980 confocal microscope with Ariryscan 2 and Multiplex mode to BMC. The new system is capable of fast and gentle imaging of up to 5 colors (Blue, green, Red, Far-Red & NIR) and resolving structures up to 120 nm. It has both confocal and super resolution imaging capabilities. Moreover, this scope is good for rapid tiling of large areas or for fast volumetric time-lapse imaging. It is placed in Room #160B at the Core.

Revised BMC Fees Structure

Following the recommendations of the BMC Advisory Committee, we have increased the fees for hourly and subscription use of BMC instruments and services from January 2022. Please check the website (Fees & Scheduling) or click the Title to find the revised rates.

BMC Operation and Safety Plan

BMC has resumed its full operation and it now offers training and all other imaging-related services to the whole user groups. For everyone’s safety, users are still advised to follow the CDC recommended safety regulations while at the Core Facility.

Axio Scope A1

Several BMC users have expressed a need for a basic wide-field microscope capable of taking bright field (color and DIC) and fluorescence images for their routine research.  So, we have added a new system to the Core in Room# 164.

UltraMicroscope II (light sheet)

We have installed a LaVision Biotec UltraMicroscope II, a light sheet fluorescence microscope, in Room #164 at BMC. It’s capable of imaging large optically cleared samples at 488 nm, 561 nm, 640 nm and 785 nm excitation wavelengths.
