Microscope: The Zeiss LSM 900 uses an inverted Axio Observer 7 microscope stand with LED and laser (405, 488, 561 and 640 nm) illumination sources.
Objectives: 2.5x/0.085, 10x/0.0.3, 20x/0.8 (dry), 40x/1.4 (oil) and 63x/1.4 (oil).
Microscope Fluorescence Filters for Viewing: DAPI (blue), FITC (green) TAMARA (orange) and mCherry (red) and CY5 (Far-red).
Lasers for Imaging: Diode lasers: 405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm and 640 nm.
Detectors: 2 Gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP)-PMTs
Software: Zen 3.6 (Blue) software controls the microscope as well as image acquisition and processing.
Computer: HP Z6 with MS Windows 10 operating system.
Capabilities: Confocal Z-series, 3-D/rotatable reconstruction, localization of multiple proteins and multicolor imaging of fixed samples. Automatic sample placement, focus adjustment and identification of the relevant sample areas and overview image acquisition. Timelapse experiments at room temperature.
