Zeiss Axio Examiner.Z1 Microscope

Zeiss-Axiovert-200M

Microscope: This fixed stage, motorized imaging system has an upright microscope (Zeiss Axio Examiner.Z1) with transmitted (HAL) and UV (Colibri) illumination sources. It can collect transmitted light images (bright field and DIC) as well as conventional fluorescence images. It has superabundant space for specimen and experimental tools.

Objectives: The scope has 5x (dry), 10x, 20x and 40x (wet) objectives. The water immersion lenses are very ideal for electrophysiology work. 63x installed upon request.

Camera: Has two AxioCam HSm CCD cameras with identical image positions. Ideal for combining images obtained with two different techniques (DIC and fluorescence) or two different fluorescence channels, for quantitative analyses.

Fluorescence Filters: Standard filter sets for imaging blue, green, red and yellow fluorophores (594 nm, 530 nm, 470 nm, 420 nm are preset). DAPI filter is available upon request.

Software: Axiovision software for documentation and archiving of images.

Computer: The microscope is controlled via a high end PC (FujiTSU Computer, Celsius) with the MS Windows operating system.

Capabilities: Time lapse, Z-stack and multi-color imaging of cell cultures, living sections, organs and entire animals.

Use: This system is ideal for wide array of electrophysiology and live imaging applications.
